Had my flight cancelled yesterday so I was a couple of hours late arriving in Singapore. All I can say so far is that the trains are so easy to use because of the English everywhere. It feels like 'Beginner's Asia' - which is fine with me.

Staying in a pleasant hostel near Little India. It had rained not long before I arrived so it's very humid. Loving the air con right now.

Had a really great week in Perth. Went kayaking, checked out a cool hippy coastal town called Fremantle. Lay on a sandy beach for the first time in ages. Met some kangaroos but they really aren't as approachable as Skippy! Also caught up with some friends I met snowboarding earlier this year. Congratulations you guys!!!

Tomorrow I'll be flying to Singapore where I start the travelly bit in earnest. Quite nervous about how it's all going to work out. I've been looked after so well by friends & family it will be a complete contrast as I move onto the next stage. There's no one to support me but myself which is scary but I'm sure a good experience.

Well the flight was very long but I survived it feeling only 10% like a zombie. A good night's sleep later and I was ready to explore Perth.

It's very clean here and there's a shocking number of people out exercising/jogging all hours of the day. So in some ways very different to the UK! The architecture is a strange mix of old buildings that look new and front of new buildings that look very new. Apparently the hot and dry weather keeps the brick work well restored. You are never too far from reminders of home. It only took an hour of walking through Perth until I spotted a guy wearing a Forest shirt.

Staying with my cousin has been a great way to catch up with the family while having a comfortable base to explore the city. I probably shouldn't get too used this this!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog. I'll be keeping it as up to date as possible while I'm away with info, stories, photos, etc.

My flight leaves at 8:30pm this evening from Heathrow, a quick stopover in Singapore and I will arrive in Perth 1am Wednesday morning - easy! :-/

My Skype ID is oliheeley so feel free to add me and I'll be more than up for a chat, time zone permitting.
